Country singer Scott DuBose challenges the “King of all Media” Howard Stern
In an open letter sent today to the Howard Stern show, Country Singer Scott DuBose makes a challenge to the Stern Kingdom. Calling Stern out on a number of disparaging remarks Stern has made about country music and country singers over the years, Scott has challenged two singers of Stern’s choice to a “sing off” for charity.
Dear Howard
For someone who claims to know about music you couldn’t be more wrong about country Music. For years on your program you have put down my art form and On Thursday January 25th, after listening to you rant about the performance by Kid Rock, Sheryl Crow, and Keith Urban I have personally had enough! I’m sorry hop along Howie, but it’s time you got a little bit of an education about “Country Music”.
On Thursdays show you during your conversation about the “hope for Haiti” telethon you
- Made several disparaging remarks about the Wife of Keith Urban, Nichole Kidman
- Made reference to the performance of Kid Rock, Sheryl Crow, and Keith Urban by calling Keith a “Light Weight”
- Made the statement “country singers are always the worst! Take a Rock singer, a pop singer, and a country singer, and the country singer will always be the worst”
Well, I’m calling you out on that last statement Howard. I challenge you to a sing off! Obviously you can’t sing, so I challenge singers of your choosing. Go find a Rock singer and a pop singer and I will best both of your singers and to put my money where my mouth is I’m willing to put up a thousand dollars of my own money to go to the winner’s choice of charity. I win; you donate a thousand dollars to my charity and vice versa.
At best over the years you have barely paid “country Music” lip service. You’ve had several country singers in studio over the years (Trace Adkins, Darryl Worley, and most notably your “friend” Natalie Mains) and been cordial to them, but when they weren’t around you have repeatedly expressed your feelings about Country Music and there has hardly ever been a positive statement made by you. You don’t like country, that’s fine. But there is no need to constantly be a complete jerk about country music! I wonder what your “friend” Natalie Mains thinks about what you think of country singers???
That’s two singers to one; looks like the odds are in your favor. Bring it on Howard. Hell, I’ll even let you pick the songs!
Scott DuBose
