BLOOMINGTON - The Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts is movin' on out this summer. As in, outside, under the sun and/or stars.
The venue's long-in-the-works outdoor space, dubbed the CEFCU Summer Stage on the Green, will host a series of five outdoor concert events on space at Douglas Street and Northbound Business 51 (directly south of the BCPA).
The showcase kicks off Memorial Day weekend with a flag-waving bang, courtesy of Grammy-winning country singer Lee Greenwood.
The author of "God Bless the USA" will perform a May 23 show that begins at 6:30 p.m. with local country favorite Scott DuBose, followed by Greenwood at 7:30 p.m.
There also will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony and stage dedication at 6:15 p.m.
